http://www.PetitionOnline.com/GOE317/petition.html

This will be very helpful in giving us some idea of how many Eagles will be in attendance on the 17th and how many will be supporting us from home.

If you plan to be there, sign in. Those who just can’t attend but stand with us in spirit are asked to sign the second petition.

755 so far have signed in as attending.

940 have signed is an with us in spirit.

This number is a fraction of what we know to be true, but we need ALL BLOGGERS and WEBMASTERS to get this word out!!

If you encounter problems signing, please persevere and try again later. We need your count!

Biblical note for myself

This is kind of a note for myself.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Ragamuffin Man

I finished with the Ragamuffin Gospel and while it mainly reaffirmed and brought new insights to how I see my relationship with God, it is the beauty in which Brennan Manning describes God’s love for each of us ragamuffins that I really love about the book.

We are sinners and not good enough to be perfect. But God doesn’t love us because of who we are, he loves us because of who he is.

Romans 5:8 says “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

It’s all about that fiery love of God that will stop at nothing to save us. We don’t have to be obeying the rules, or doing all we’re supposed to do, to earn his love, all he wants us to do is accept it.

We just have to show up like the prodigal son did in Luke chap 15 when his father ran out to him, he hadn’t even given his son a chance to say he was sorry yet, the father just took his son in as he was hugged him and kissed his son. By the time the son apologized, he was already in his father’s arms.

Anyway it’s kind of hard to describe beyond this without rewriting a good chunk of the book. There is so much there. He quotes scripture, has poems, stories of his life and other stuff. So I would highly recommend reading the Ragamuffin Gospel.

So I find myself a Ragamuffin, saved by grace and free from fear.

sour saints

I’m currently reading the Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning.

I found an interesting quote from Teresa of Avila in it. She says “from silly devotions and sour faced saints, spare us, O Lord.”

This comes from a point in the book that as Christians we need to celebrate. God has given us life thru Christ. Thru Christ we’ve beaten death.

Ha ha, take that death.

Yeah ok some of you guys are probably saying, “Huh?” The physical body dies, but our spirit goes to heaven. God is not the God of the dead but of the living. Those that have gone before are alive in heaven.

So will we be when we get there. So don’t be so sour faced, celebrate!
